1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Shires Energy website (shiresenergy.com) and the Shires Energy customer portal (collectively the "Site"). They form a legally binding agreement between you and Shires Energy Ltd (company number 15781479, registered at 9 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3JY, United Kingdom). By using the Site, you accept these terms.

These terms do not cover the supply of solar systems, installation services or associated hardware, those are governed by a separate written contract between us.

2. Permitted use

You may use the Site for lawful, personal or business purposes. You must not:

  • copy, scrape, or republish substantial portions of the Site without our written consent;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, our systems, or another user's account;
  • introduce malware, spam, or any code intended to disrupt the Site;
  • use the Site in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation;
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us through the Site.

3. Customer portal accounts

Access to the customer portal is by invitation only. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including text, essays, diagrams, photographs, software and design, is owned by Shires Energy Ltd or licensed to us. You may view it for personal, non-commercial use and share individual links. Any other use requires our written permission.

Where we publish academic papers via the "Library" section, those works are owned by their respective authors / publishers and shared under their stated licences.

5. Information accuracy

We take care to ensure the information on the Site is accurate, but we provide it on an "as is" basis. Articles, modelling tools, and indicative figures are for general guidance only and do not constitute professional, financial, planning or engineering advice. Always seek a project-specific quote and survey before making decisions.

6. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites; following an external link is at your own risk.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

8. Suspension and changes

We may modify, suspend, or withdraw any part of the Site at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect customer portal users.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
